The odds of this deer weighing 412 dressed are extremely, extremely low especially for a wild deer. That would mean it would weigh over 500 not dressed. And to come from PA at this weight even more unlikely.
412 on the hoof is a possibilty although remote. Highly unlikely from PA unless from a game farm. This picture has been posted before and I think it was from Nebraska which is more possible but still very, very rare. Even Canadian deer don't weigh 400 lbs dressed.

I actually saw a story on the news about this.......... it was officially weighed at 412 pounds dressed out. It still contained the heart and lungs if it makes you feel any better, but for an official weight, it can contain the heart and lungs. Not to mention, look at the neck on that deer....... you can hardly tell it has a neck.

I'd like to see that news story. This deer went around the web last year, and it was from Nebraska then, now it's from Penn?Does anyone have any real proof on this deer? The hunters head and hands look weird, that's why I think it's a photoshop.

Josh, it is not a matter of making me "feel" better. I am stating what the odds are of this buck weighing 412. This picture was posted last year from Nebraska. Rumors abound and
when it comes to big bucks there are plenty to go around. Until I see proof, no way in God's name this buck goes 412 from PA.

look at the other pics. when you said look at the head, it did look a little funny, but the guy is holding on to the brow tine with his hand. I will post the other pics so u can see those. ALSO, your right, it wasnt shot in PA. It was shot by somebody that lived in PA. I have a woods and water news which is like michigan out of doors. This said that the deer was shot in Nebraska. That was my mistake, but i think that this deer does weigh 412 pounds. Maybe i just want to believe...... but either way its still a nice buck

This is what suppose to be true about this deer but who knows time will tell, the guy who shot this deer is Stan Whitt from ark.it was killed on a indian reservation in neb. it was not wiegh but he used on of those measuring tapes to cal. how much a deer weighs they measured it before field dressing it he said yes the deer was bloated as he had shot it on an evning hunt and did not find it until the next day,but they measured it right behind the front legs so bloating would not have to much to with it. the rack scored 139 b&c,he says basspro is suppose to be doing a full mount of it,only time will tell if the info is corr

Thank you 24/7. Now that is what I call good information. Facts are the key to getting it right and you provided quite a few. Good call, if as you say "what is supposed to be true"
actually is true.

This is a huge buck no matter what it weighs... it certainly could weigh 412.. The largest whitetail that i know of that was officially weighed was killed in 1977 by bow hunter named john annett from ontario, canada. The buck dressed out at 431 lbs on certified scales. I sure would dread dragging either of those brutes ..but let me tell you i'd like to get a chance to try one like em... congrats to the hunter!!!!

Haha, that picture of the hunter does look pretty hilarious.... buck looks awesome though still. Oh, and Hornhound, I found info on a buck killed in 1926 that dressed out at 402 by a guy named Carl Lenander Jr. and the DNR estimated it's live weight to be 511. Here's the website with the info [ link ],20036,1189501_1534065,00.html
Know where I could find info on this "Annet" buck?
