Well I just got a little more info looks like the buck scored 223 and 7/8 green, with 24 6/8 deductions which comes to 199 1/8 net green. Poached deer can be registered in B@C the poacher would get no credit it goes in the books as taken by unknown hunter so the deer gets the glory nothin to the poacher. Keep the comments comin in i wanna hear what everyone thinks

This buck is a true HOG!! Mass, Main Beams...Increadable! I don't believe it has the tine length as the Hanson Buck....200 Green looks about right to me. I've heard that comming this summer you'll see many articles in various magazines on this buck...soon, all shall be known. I don't think there will be too many secrets behind this truly amazing buck.

I personally think when some better photos come out this could go down as one of the greatest typicals of all time, just has way to match mass, and just a beautiful buck.

This deer was infact taken by a poacher in Canada. That is a game warden in the pic. The mass measurements go around ten (10) inches at the H2 and H3, so that would give him over 40 inches of mass with only four measurements and another four to go. I believe the score of 248 plus gross is correct. A friend and outfitter in ME knows something about it too so I will ask.

TWO HUNTERS CHARGED IN KILLING OF TROPHY DEER
DRYDEN - Two hunters have each been charged with six counts of illegal hunting, including night hunting and trespassing, for killing a trophy white-tailed deer.
Gary W. Stroughter, 54, of Baton Rouge, and Samuel F. Stroughter, 74, of Prairieville, both of Louisiana, have been summoned to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Dryden on March 16, 2004.
The deer was killed north of Dryden on November 10, 2003.
The animal that was killed has been the subject of considerable media interest due to the size of its antlers. The deer was seized by conservation officers.
Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) Dryden District Conservation Officers laid the charges on February 25, 2004, following an investigation aided by Louisiana and Mississippi conservation officers.
The public is encouraged to report natural resources violations to the local MNR office or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Absolute monster of a whitetail buck! Such a shame he ended that way. Now there's no real story to go with this giant. I've seen this pic on this site somewhere before. Can't remember the user's name who posted it though. Thanks for the comment on my post. You're right, Harold would want me to keep going after these grey ghosts.

Although this buck is not a new world record it is a new Ontario record at 199 7/8 typical. Usually whenever new inforamtion is released on the deer it is posted in the local paper although i havent read anything new as of late. The latest on the poachers was that they skipped the court date and i dont believe there is to much that the ministry can do because they are out of country. To bad to see a great deer like this go down in such a bad way.

Some people are just ignorant and I hate that two Americans did this. I am an American and these two guys are slobs most hunters here are good people that obey the law. There is always a few bad apples, its a real shame, wish they would have to pay.
